Il Lato A: Tra Resistenza Underground e Odissee Spaziali
Il viaggio di SUM 03 si apre con 23HZ e la loro “Sound of Resistance“. Un titolo-manifesto guidato da un kick granitico e linee di basso serrate, concepito come un inno alla resistenza culturale dei free party e della libera espressione.
Subito dopo, le frequenze cambiano orbita con KT-KLIZM e la sua “Space Odyssey“. L’artista francese, rinomato per l’uso viscerale e live dell’hardware, confeziona una traccia mental-tribe profonda e spaziale, arricchita da synth acidi e percussioni che trascinano l’ascoltatore in un tunnel ipnotico.
Il Lato B: L’Inno del Sistema e il Richiamo della Tribù
Voltando il vinile, il Lato B mette in mostra la solidità di UZI con “SUM System“. Una traccia che è una vera e propria dichiarazione d’amore al muro di casse e alla piattaforma SUM: ritmiche industriali d’acciaio e frequenze sub-bassi calibrate per far vibrare i coni dei sound system più esigenti.
La chiusura dell’EP è affidata a SPK con “Tribe Calling“, un pezzo che risponde al richiamo ancestrale della cassa dritta, fondendo l’impatto della hard-tribe con un’evoluzione sonora moderna e travolgente.

PREMIERE: SUM 03 — the third vinyl chapter from Sound Underground Music
The Italian label drops four exclusive tracks between straight kick and sound system culture — here is our review of SUM 03.
The vinyl saga of Sound Underground Music reaches its third and most anticipated chapter yet. On November 6th 2026, SUM 03 drops — a 12” vinyl EP bringing together four heavyweights from the label’s official roster to shape a true sonic ritual— from the purest free tekno to the mental and hypnotic progressions that look forward while keeping both feet firmly planted in the analogue tradition of the scene.
Side A — Resistance and spatial orbits
The journey opens with 23Hz and Sound of Resistance, a manifesto title that needs no explanation: granite kick, tight basslines, an anthem to the cultural resistance of free parties and free expression that works as well through headphones as it does at devastating volume on an open sound system. Immediately after, the frequencies shift orbit with KT-KLIZM and Space Odyssey — the French artist, known for his visceral and live use of hardware, builds a deep and spatial mental-tribe track where acid synths and percussion drag the listener into a hypnotic tunnel from which it is hard to want to escape.
Side B — The system and the calling
Flipping the record, UZI comes in with SUM System, a direct declaration of love to the wall of speakers and the platform that carries its name: steel industrial rhythms and sub-bass frequencies calibrated to do exactly what they need to do, make the cones of the most demanding sound systems vibrate. The closing track is entrusted to SPK with Tribe Calling, which answers the ancestral call of the straight kick by fusing the impact of hard-tribe with a modern and overwhelming sonic evolution — the kind of track that closes a set or opens an entire night.
Mastering and artwork
To guarantee devastating acoustic pressure on any system, the mastering of SUM 03 was handled by the prestigious British studio Finyl Tweek, a guarantee of dynamic quality on vinyl that the scene knows well. The sonic impact is contained within the dark and evocative aesthetic of the artwork signed by Morgana, who continues to translate the hardcore and underground imagery of the Italian label into visuals with a consistency that has become part of the identity of every SUM release.
SUM 03 is available as a 12″ vinyl and digitally on Bandcamp and in the best specialist stores including Toolbox Records.
